Since the beginning of the year, many regions have incorporated the nighttime economy into their local government work reports, using policy tools to activate nighttime consumption potential and making it an important driver for expanding and upgrading service consumption. For example, Shanghai proposed to “further expand service consumption, develop first-launch economy, nighttime economy, live streaming economy, and silver economy”; Fujian mentioned “innovative development of ‘ticket stub economy’ and ‘nighttime economy’”; Jiangsu clarified the goal of cultivating characteristic consumption, creating new scenarios such as first-launch stores, flagship stores, and debut exhibitions, supporting the development of new formats like performing arts and nighttime consumption, developing instant retail and other new models, and launching a three-year action plan for live e-commerce development. “By 2026, many regions will include the nighttime economy in their new year’s work plans to promote the expansion and quality improvement of service consumption,” said Song Xiangqing, Vice President of the China Business Economics Society, in an interview with reporters. He stated that the nighttime economy has become one of the key measures to activate consumption potential. (Securities Daily)
