IT Home, February 8 — Nvidia, which has sparked a wave of artificial intelligence infrastructure and development, is now reaping the rewards of its efforts.
According to the official Cursor blog, Nvidia has fully deployed generative AI tools for up to 30,000 engineers within the company. Through a partnership with Anysphere Inc., based in San Francisco, Nvidia has obtained a customized version of the Cursor integrated development environment, focused on AI-assisted code design. Notably, it is reported that Nvidia engineers currently produce three times as much code as in previous development processes, and the products or services we are now using from Nvidia are very likely to be designed with human guidance and AI assistance.
As far as IT Home understands, Nvidia offers a range of mission-critical products, including GPU drivers that support applications from basic gaming to large-scale AI training and inference. The company likely enforces strict standards on the newly generated code and conducts extensive testing before deploying it into production. This is not Nvidia’s first time incorporating AI-assisted workflows into its product development process; the company has long deployed dedicated supercomputers and has continuously optimized Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology over the years, with some chip designs also being refined using internal AI tools.
Nvidia and Cursor stated that despite the threefold increase in code output, the bug rate remains stable, thanks to targeted optimizations for enterprise scenarios.
