IT Home February 8 News, the release date of Apple’s next-generation high-end MacBook Pro equipped with M5Pro and M5Max chips is gradually becoming clearer.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman stated in the latest issue of Power On newsletter that the release schedule for these new MacBook Pro models is tied to the macOS 26.3 cycle, with the earliest product launch possibly scheduled for the week of March 2.
Previously, it was widely believed that the new high-end MacBook Pro would be unveiled in January, but as January ended, the products were not released.
The known information so far is that the new models will be released in conjunction with macOS 26.3, which is expected to be pushed to the public in the coming days. However, Gurman also emphasized that even if macOS 26.3 is released, the MacBook Pro itself will not be “immediately” launched, as the macOS 26.3 cycle will continue until March. According to him, the new MacBook Pro only needs to be released before the official launch of macOS 26.4.
Regarding specific timing, the earliest possible release of the new MacBook Pro is during the week of March 2. Gurman also mentioned that high-end MacBook Pro models with M4 chips are still in short supply, which is seen as a typical sign that new products are imminent.
Based on Apple’s past habits, the company usually releases new products on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Therefore, if Apple follows its usual pattern, the new MacBook Pro might be officially announced sometime between March 2 and March 4.
In addition to the MacBook Pro, Gurman reiterated plans for other upcoming Mac products. It is said that after the release of MacBook Pro models with M5Pro and M5Max, Apple also plans to launch new MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Studio Display models equipped with M5 chips. However, it is not yet clear whether these products will also be released in March, but they are expected to be announced shortly thereafter.
Furthermore, Apple is working on a more affordable MacBook, with a release possibly in the first half of this year. The company is also planning a new Mac mini as a successor to the M4 version Mac mini.
As for more distant product plans, Apple intends to launch a redesigned MacBook Pro later this year, featuring an OLED screen, a thinner body, touch display support, and equipped with M6 series chips. IT Home will continue to follow these developments, so stay tuned.
