Igor Kolomoisky reports failed assassination attempt against Energoatom executive after fleeing to Israel

Ukrainian magnate Igor Kolomoisky revealed alarming details about a coordinated attack suffered by Timur Mindich, a key figure in the investigation of embezzlement of funds from the state-owned company Energoatom, shortly after the latter arrived in Israeli territory. According to the oligarch’s accounts, the events took place on the 28th in Israeli territory, marking a chilling turn in a case that had already generated considerable political tension in Ukraine.

Igor Kolomoisky’s account of the events in the Holy Land

According to the Ukrainian businessman’s statements, the criminal operation failed in its main objectives due to a case of mistaken identity. “The perpetrators were detained at the scene,” Kolomoisky stated, adding that they confused the target residence. The attack resulted in a domestic worker being seriously injured, though she managed to survive the incident. The oligarch plans to provide more details about what happened during the judicial proceedings scheduled for December 11 or 12.

Ukrainian authorities’ stance

The Ukrainian embassy based in Israel has maintained a cautious position regarding these reports, informing through the Suspilne portal that “it has no verified information about the event in question.” This lack of official confirmation contrasts with Igor Kolomoisky’s public testimony, raising questions about the chain of information between government institutions.

However, the Ukrainian Border Guard Service confirmed that Timur Mindich legally crossed Ukraine’s border checkpoints in accordance with regulations. Border regulations allowed his departure because Mindich is the parent of three minors, a circumstance that facilitates legal transit in special situations. His current location in Israeli territory is considered verified, although investigations into the accuracy of the events described by Igor Kolomoisky are still in the preliminary phase.
