A person’s poor life is not just a matter of luck or external circumstances, but rather because their inner world has long been accustomed to poverty, illness, and suffering. This life pattern mostly stems from childhood education and long-term psychological conditioning. What is stored in the subconscious will be constantly repeated in life; even if happiness, health, and abundance are right in front of them, they will feel uncomfortable and ultimately return to familiar pain. For this reason, excessive pity cannot truly help them. If they are unwilling to change, unwilling to approach truth, goodness, and beauty, unwilling to practice altruism, take responsibility, and serve, their fate will not undergo a fundamental transformation. Recognizing this, and understanding others’ situations from the perspective of cause and effect and rationality, letting go of emotional sympathy, the heart will naturally settle—upon closer inspection, there is actually no such thing as a “pitiful person.”
