# The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation declares WhiteBit an undesirable organization
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia has recognized the activities of the cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBit, as well as the structures of its affiliated and subsidiary organizations, as undesirable on the territory of the country.
“This European cryptocurrency trading platform is used by cryptocurrency exchanges and exchangers to carry out various ‘gray’ schemes for money laundering out of Russia, as well as other illegal activities,” — the agency’s website states.
At the time of writing, the exchange had not made any public comments.
WhiteBit was founded in 2018 by entrepreneur Vladimir Nosov and is registered in Lithuania.
Recall that in April 2025, Roskomnadzor blocked the domains of the crypto exchange aggregator BestChange.
