The Cardano community is about to face an important decision. According to the latest news, the hard fork working group recommends naming the protocol version 11 in 2026 the "van Rossem hard fork" to honor the late governance representative Max van Rossem.

This proposal will officially open for voting on January 13th of this year and will continue until February 14th. As a key member of the Cardano ecosystem, community DReps (delegated representatives) will vote to decide whether to adopt this naming suggestion.

This practice is not uncommon in the cryptocurrency community—naming significant upgrades after community contributors not only pays tribute to their contributions but also leaves a mark in blockchain history. For Cardano, this vote is also an example of demonstrating decentralized governance.
