Many people misunderstand the meaning of taking profit.

Taking profit is not simply cashing out your gains; fundamentally, it is about saving yourself from the abyss of greed.

I have read too many stories of traders—clearly predicting correctly, the market moving in the right direction, yet they get stuck on one thought: "Wait a bit longer, it can still go up." And the result? It's not the market turning against you with a sudden move, but your own greed dragging you back to the bottom.

Legendary trader Livermore once said something particularly calm: I have never gone bankrupt because I sold too early.

True masters are not those who can ride out the entire trend. Instead, they are those who can decisively press the sell button when it's time to get off, without a trace of regret or unwillingness. That state of being free from desire and yet firm is the rarest cultivation in trading.

I've said it before, greed is the biggest killer in trading. I explained this logic thoroughly three years ago, and there are still people struggling over whether to take a few more points. Truly unawakened. The core message is—get out when it's time, and stay calm. This is the highest ground.
