Trust Wallet Browser Extension Vulnerability Attack Affects $7 Million, Official Release Fix Guide

【Crypto World】Bad news has arrived. Trust Wallet officially confirmed recently that version 2.68 of the browser extension has a security vulnerability, affecting approximately $7 million worth of user funds. The good news is that the official team has promised to ensure full refunds for all affected users. Supporting users is their top priority right now, and the team is working hard to improve the refund process.

If you are currently using version 2.68, you need to act quickly to protect your assets. Here’s a checklist:

First, immediately stop using version 2.68 of the Trust Wallet browser extension on your desktop device. This is the first step to prevent further losses. Then open the Chrome browser and copy the following string into the address bar: chrome://extensions/?id=egjidjbpglichdcondbcbdnbeeppgdph. This is the direct link to the official Trust Wallet extension.

Once inside, you will see the configuration options for Trust Wallet. Check the toggle switches below—if they are still on, turn them off immediately. Next, find the “Developer mode” button in the top right corner and click it. Then, locate the “Update” button in the top left corner and click it; the system will automatically fetch the latest version.

Finally, verify the version number to ensure you have upgraded to v2.69—the latest and most secure version. After completing these steps, your wallet should resume normal operation.

If you find that your funds have indeed been compromised, you can submit a compensation request through official channels. The Trust Wallet team is actively handling this matter, so there’s no need to worry too much—just follow official notifications.

7 million dollars lost, this wave of Trust Wallet really let us down... I only believe in the full refund if you say so Hurry up and update, or just wait to be exploited. Who still dares to use this wallet Another security vulnerability, crypto wallets are all unreliable I deleted version v2.68 long ago, luckily I didn't fall for it, or I would have lost a lot How come these things happen so easily? Where's the risk control? Feels like Trust Wallet isn't that great either, I'd rather manage my private keys myself for peace of mind

Damn, it's that kind of thing again. Trust Wallet is really hard to explain. Oh my God, this time it's pretty intense. 7 million dollars just gone? I knew something felt off lately. By the way, do they really compensate? I've heard this kind of promise too many times... Hurry up and update the version, or you'll lose everything. That's why I keep saying that self-custody wallets are not completely safe, everyone.

Oh no, it's this kind of issue again. Wallet vulnerabilities are really hard to deal with. Wait, 7 million USD—that's how many people? I just want to know if I got hit. Hurry up and update, friends. Don't wait until you're exploited and regret it. By the way, Trust Wallet's response this time was pretty quick, at least with a refund promise, much more reliable than some projects. I just want to ask, how was this vulnerability discovered? Was there a security audit? Having to go through the hassle of migrating assets again—so annoying. I deleted version v2.68 long ago. Luckily, I didn't store too many things in it. That's why I never put all my assets in one wallet, everyone.

Damn, something's happened again. Trust Wallet is like Schrödinger's cat here. Luckily, a full refund is possible; otherwise, it would be a real loss. Quickly check if you've been affected. If you ask me, these wallets should be reviewed regularly, or else there might be another problem someday.

7 million dollars are gone. This wave of trust crisis is quite intense. Brothers still using v2.68, hurry up and run, don't wait. They promised compensation, but I'm just worried there will be all kinds of tricks later. That's why I still prefer self-custody wallets...
