Anxiety is resistance to impermanence. In this world, things are beyond your control; there will always be an event that suddenly occurs. Impermanence will happen. But when you know that impermanence will occur and you keep resisting it internally, saying that this event is better not to happen or better not to happen to me, then your anxiety will arise. In fact, from a certain perspective, your karma has already determined what you will do, so as long as you live each day sincerely, what happens next will occur. Acknowledging that most of this world is uncontrollable is not pessimism but a profound clarity and freedom. From now on, we can stop fighting windmills and instead begin truly building our own garden.
