Founder of Strategy, Michael Saylor, arrived in Abu Dhabi with the goal of making an impression, and his key speech at Bitcoin MENA 2025 met those expectations. Addressing investors, sovereign funds, regulators, and bankers from the region, Saylor presented Bitcoin not just as an asset but as the foundation of a new global financial era. As he put it: “Bitcoin is digital capital.”
Saylor began by emphasizing a dramatic geopolitical shift: the U.S. government, from the Oval Office to major regulatory agencies, publicly recognized Bitcoin as a strategic national asset. He told the MENA audience that commitments from Washington leaders indicate long-term structural reformation, not a fleeting moment. In his view, when the most influential regulator in the world adopts digital assets, it triggers a wave of changes across all continents.
Founder of Strategy, Michael Saylor, told the Bitcoin MENA 2025 audience that “Digital capital creates digital credit, which in turn creates digital money,” and also stated that “If you have a long-term perspective, don’t settle for 10%. You should aim for 30%.”
However, his speech was not a victory parade — it was a declaration. Saylor’s message focused on how digital capital transforms into digital credit and then into digital money. Strategy, now holding over 660,000 Bitcoins, views its treasury not as a store of value but as a driver. The company is developing a set of financial products based on Bitcoin aimed at generating returns, reducing volatility, and creating credit instruments competing with traditional fixed-income markets.
During his speech, Saylor emphasized that his company, Strategy, “does not experience buyer fatigue” regarding Bitcoin acquisitions, adding that the firm plans to continue buying. “We intend to take everything and put it into circulation,” he told the audience. Strategy’s leadership also does not believe in the four-year cycle, claiming that Bitcoin “will grow by 30% annually over the next 20 years.”
Saylor asserts that the world is moving on credit, not capital, and that Bitcoin can initiate a global credit transformation. He described Strategy’s equity products, perpetual credit notes, and Bitcoin-backed dividends as financial instruments designed for a horizon of hundreds of years. According to him, these structures already outperform traditional credit instruments in yield, liquidity, and tax efficiency — a detail that drew many raised eyebrows among the Abu Dhabi audience.
