Securitize recruits former PayPal legal executive, aims for Nasdaq listing with $1.25 billion valuation

[Crypto World] Securitize, a major player in RWA tokenization, just made a big move by bringing in former PayPal Head of Digital Assets Legal, Jerome Roche, as Chief Legal Officer.

The timing is quite interesting, as Securitize is preparing to go public via a SPAC merger, with a pre-money valuation of $1.25 billion and plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker SECZ. CEO Carlos Domingo is very pleased with the hire, stating that Roche’s experience in securities law and digital assets is tailor-made for their IPO, especially highlighting his role in PayPal’s stablecoin project.

As for Securitize’s track record, the most impressive is helping BlackRock launch the BUIDL fund, which surpassed $1 billion in size. Even more interesting, they plan to tokenize their own company’s equity after the merger—truly taking the RWA concept to the next level.

honestly the timing here screams "we know exactly when to make moves" — bringing in PayPal's legal heavyweight right before the nasdaq push? that's not coincidence, that's calculated. kind of like catching that optimal gas window before the network gets flooded, you know what i mean

Really? They poached a legal expert from PayPal—this is paving the way for their IPO. With Jerome joining, compliance should be much more solid. $1.25 billion sprinting toward Nasdaq, the RWA track really does have potential. But SPACs... lately, this approach seems a bit risky... Securitize made a good move here—at least the legal side is no longer a concern.

They're even daring to poach PayPal's legal team—looks like they're really aiming to make it to Nasdaq.

Oh wow, PayPal is stepping in—this is definitely paving the way for an IPO. Jerome's arrival is pretty timely, for sure it’s to handle those tricky legal issues. A $1.25 billion valuation heading for Nasdaq, the RWA sector is really hot lately. But honestly, the timing of this hire is pretty suspicious, definitely feels like a hint. Let’s see if Securitize can go public smoothly—compliance is really the key here.

Wow, that's quite a lineup. Poaching talent from PayPal to pave the way for an IPO—they're definitely serious about this. Jerome is the right guy for the job. Just from this hire alone, you can see how ambitious Securitize is when it comes to RWAs. Aiming for $1.25 billion on Nasdaq, with the ticker SECZ... Alright, I'm actually looking forward to this.
