$RIF Organizing the relationship between RIF and RSK:

1. RSK - Base Layer (Root Chain)

· What it is: RSK is a Bitcoin smart contract sidechain. It shares hash power with Bitcoin through "merged mining," aiming to bring Ethereum-style smart contract functionality and higher transaction speed to the Bitcoin ecosystem, while maintaining Bitcoin’s security.
· Core goal: To make Bitcoin not just digital gold, but also support DeFi, NFTs, complex applications, and unlock Bitcoin’s financial potential.
· Role: It is the underlying infrastructure of the entire architecture. Without RSK, nothing else follows.

2. RIF - Infrastructure and Service Token

· What it is: RIF is the name of the decentralized infrastructure suite built on the RSK platform, and its native token is also called RIF.
· Relationship with RSK:
· Logically: RIF is the "upper layer" of RSK. RSK provides the underlying environment for smart contracts, while RIF builds a range of ready-to-use services on top, similar to applications (RIF services) installed on an operating system (RSK).
· Development: Both are mainly developed and promoted by the same company, IOVLabs.
· What’s included in the RIF suite: RIF services aim to provide all the infrastructure needed to build decentralized applications, such as:
· RIF Storage: Decentralized file storage (similar to Filecoin).
· RIF Communications: Decentralized messaging service.
· RIF Identity: Decentralized identity management.
· RIF Gateway: Payment and naming services.
· The role of RIF token (RIF): Used to pay for these RIF services. For example, if you want to use RIF Storage to store files, you need to pay with RIF tokens. It serves as the "fuel" for the entire RIF economic system.
RSK and RIF jointly demonstrate a vertical development path for the Bitcoin ecosystem:
RSK, as the smart contract layer, extends Bitcoin’s capabilities -> RIF builds enterprise-grade infrastructure services on this foundation -> The community leverages RSK’s capabilities to create cultural assets like SATS, forming a complete closed ecosystem from underlying technology to upper-level applications.

The key to understanding them is to distinguish the layers: RSK is the base layer, RIF is the official service in the middle layer, and SATS is the community application on the top layer.
