Ledger has just warned that the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip, used in many smartphones—including the Solana Seeker—has a critical vulnerability that cannot be patched.

Ledger attempted to attack the chip using electromagnetic pulses (EMF) during device startup and was able to:
- Gain full control of the phone.
- Bypass all layers of protection.
- Extract the private key if the user stored a crypto wallet on the device.

The flaw is inside the chip’s silicon design and cannot be fixed with software.

The chip manufacturer stated that this chip is intended for mainstream consumer products, not financial devices or hardware wallets. The chip was not designed to withstand electromagnetic attacks, so being exploited in this way is “outside the intended scope of use.”
