Cloudflare outage for half an hour causes multiple exchanges and DeFi protocols to collectively "lose connection"
[BlockBeats] This afternoon, many people found that their frequently used trading platforms suddenly became inaccessible.
Cloudflare experienced some issues, but fortunately the official team responded quickly: the problem has been fixed, and they are still closely monitoring the situation.
This outage had a considerable impact. Major trading platforms, including a certain compliant platform and Kraken, were affected, with users unable to log in for a period. What’s even more troublesome is that the front-end interfaces of a large number of DeFi protocols also went down, making it impossible for users to operate.
At the end of the day, even though Web3 talks about decentralization, when it comes to infrastructure, it still relies on traditional cloud service providers. When a provider of Cloudflare’s caliber has a hiccup, the entire industry feels the shockwaves.
