Just saw some hot news—Andrey Grachev, partner at Falcon Finance, is going to speak at Cryptic Talks.
This time he’ll be discussing the core trends of DeFi in 2026. The focus will be on two directions: universal collateral mechanisms and synthetic currency systems. Sounds a bit abstract? Simply put, it’s about how to build the next generation of DeFi infrastructure.
Points worth paying attention to: • How the new wave of DeFi infrastructure will evolve • What trends the Falcon Finance team has identified • Whether ordinary people can get a share of the synthetic assets wave
For those looking to get ahead of the curve, insights from top project teams like this are quite valuable.
By the way, what are you most curious about when it comes to synthetic currencies? Liquidity design? Or risk hedging mechanisms?

Synthetic currencies sound fancy, but at the end of the day, it's just the same old tricks in a new package.
I honestly don't believe DeFi in 2026 can come up with anything truly new—they hyped it up like this last year too.

Another "core trend" prophet for 2026. Interestingly, the last team that said this now has a liquidation rate of 98%.
Universal collateral mechanisms sound impressive, but data shows that the risk concentration of such products has never been resolved. Ironically, every cycle someone says "this time is different."
I'm not nitpicking—history's lessons are clear. Synthetic assets ultimately can't escape the liquidity trap. Anyone looking to get a piece of the action should first take a look at what happened with Luna.

nah man, reading between the lines here... synthetic currency systems always sound sexier in theory than they actually perform. been around long enough to know how this plays out tbh

To be honest, I still don't quite understand synthetic currencies. It feels like another new concept for harvesting retail investors.
