Kevin O'Leary has invested on Shark Tank for 14 years, and his biggest realization is: **you cannot predict the market at all**. He tried to time the market throughout his entire career, and the result was a complete failure.

The most heartbreaking example is Base Paws—a cat DNA testing project that he initially thought was a joke, but ended up selling for nearly $100 million. Meanwhile, the projects he was sure would be profitable turned out to be rather mediocre in terms of profit.

His suggestion was very straightforward:
- Don't be afraid of failure; failure is the best teacher.
- Do not try to predict economic downturns/market trends, no one can do it.
- The only reliable strategy is **diversified investment**.
- Diversification is the only way to defend.

In summary: In an uncertain market, those who diversify their risks rather than betting on the right direction will ultimately come out on top.
