BTC vs ETH: Who's the Real Wealth Machine?

robot
Abstract generation in progress

Here’s the real talk: over the past decade, Bitcoin has minted 145,100 millionaires. Ethereum? Not even close to that number.

The numbers tell the story. Bitcoin’s CAGR from 2017-2025 hit 50% — even with two brutal bear markets (2018, 2022) in the mix. That’s the power of compounding, baby. Ethereum managed 33% CAGR in the same period, which is solid but can’t compete.

Now here’s where it gets spicy: Bitcoin could theoretically hit $1 million in the next 5 years (that’s 8x from current levels). Cathie Wood, Jack Dorsey, and Brian Armstrong are all backing this thesis. Meanwhile, Ethereum’s most bullish target? Around $20,000 — roughly 6x upside from $3,150. Both are moonshots, but Bitcoin’s trajectory looks steeper.

The plot twist? As these assets mature, growth rates should cool down. Bitcoin acts like digital gold (commodity), while Ethereum behaves more like a tech stock. Tech stocks typically outperform commodities long-term, so Ethereum might catch up eventually.

Bottom line: Bitcoin’s the proven millionaire-maker with an 8-in-10 winning year rate. But volatility is real, and past performance isn’t guaranteed. If you can stomach the swings and hodl long-term, BTC’s odds look better right now. Just don’t expect to get rich quick.
