Previously, Nasdaq had submitted a rule change application to the SEC, aiming to launch tokenized stock and ETF trading on the main board. If this happens, it would be one of the first major platforms in the United States to legally enable on-chain securities to compete alongside traditional stocks.

Their plan is designed quite cleverly - using a unified order book and relying on the existing clearing system, they have created new tricks while keeping risk under control.
