⚠️ Australian police expose new type of encryption scam trap

The Australian Federal Police has just issued a warning: scammers are using the official platform ReportCyber to phishing.

The trick is like this:

Fraudsters first submit fake reports on ReportCyber, impersonating police officers to gain trust. Then the victims receive calls from the “police”, claiming that their wallets are involved in a cryptocurrency data leak, and they will also send seemingly official case numbers to convince you.

Then the second phone call came - this time a different person impersonated the trading platform,诱导 you to urgently transfer money to a “secure account.”

Fortunately, some victims recently saw through this scam in time and did not make the transfer. But this indicates that the scam tactics are upgrading, combining multiple social engineering elements of official platforms + authoritative identities + urgent scenarios.

• Real police officers do not call you to ask for a transfer.
• ReportCyber is just a reporting platform and will not contact you proactively.
• If you receive a suspicious call, hang up first and then call the official number to confirm.
