Signal groups are one of the biggest scams in the crypto ecosystem. I decided to get involved in one to document how they really work (spoiler: it's a business, not trading).
The “VIP analysis” trap
The group had 500 members in the public channel. They offered me 3 days free, VIP access with “professional traders” who supposedly managed 6-figure portfolios. They constantly posted profits, never losses. Typical.
My real numbers after 30 days of paying $30:
Earnings: $40.56
Losses: $79.10
Net result: -$38.54
The ironic thing? My best trade was on my own (60% with 50X in BTC). Their signals with shitcoins almost always ended up at -25%.
The real business
40 members paying = $1,200/month in pure income. They don't earn from trading, they earn from you paying for their “signals”. It's a rotation scheme: when you leave, another unsuspecting person comes in.
They posted 2% gains as if it were epic, and the losses simply vanished from the chat.
The question that gives them away
If these guys really had a money-making machine, why would they sell access for $30?
There are no experts giving away gold. If someone sells it to you nicely, the gold is probably fake.
Golden rule of crypto: Your best trader is you. Those who sell “signals” have long stopped trading.
