Astar Network’s Runtime Upgrade is Now Live

On Tuesday, Astar Network announced via X that Astar’s new runtime upgrade is now live. The latest upgrade introduces fixed maximum caps for dApp staking thresholds, solving the threshold’s instability caused by fluctuating ASTR prices.

The upgrade also includes a Polkadot runtime uplift to stable-2412, bringing:

XCM v5 for smarter cross-chain messaging
Fork-aware transaction pool for added chain resilience
Cancun compatibility for the EVM layer

Finally, Astar now supports SQL backend integration for Frontier, providing developers with easier access to smart contract data.
