On Wednesday, the Sei team announced via X that Sei Labs has proposed to streamline Sei’s architecture to an EVM-only model. The proposal has been submitted through the Sei Improvement Proposal process.

This proposal aims to enhance developer experience, simplify infrastructure, and fully leverage Sei’s parallelized EVM performance as the network builds toward Giga. The SIP process ensures all ecosystem participants can provide feedback, ask questions, and shape Sei’s evolution.

Sei is a high-speed Layer 1 blockchain tailored for the digital asset boom, from NFTs to DeFi. The blockchain intends to unlock a brand-new design space for consumer-facing applications. Its native coin, SEI is up 11% in the last 24 hours and is now trading at $0.2313 per coin
