According to news from BiJie Wang on May 2, foreign media analysis reports that the U.S. non-farm payrolls for April are expected to increase by 165,000. The breadth of job creation is rapidly narrowing, and employment growth may be concentrated in only two sectors—construction and professional and business services. Although overall data may still stabilize and rise, it will reflect early signs of damage caused by the trade war. The first wave of tariffs implemented in February may have already led to a slowdown in hiring in transportation and logistics. As domestic and international tourism declines, hiring in the leisure and hospitality sectors will be below their typical spring recruitment numbers.
