Reason for the rumor? It may be due to people’s confusion between the “effective date” in the regulatory filing and the official launch date. When the fund registration is “effective,” it only means that it has passed one step with the SEC, but it does not guarantee that it will launch on that date.
In fact, the SEC may still oppose the launch. The effectiveness of the registration filing is part of the overall process. It is necessary before the launch but does not confirm a specific timeline or guarantee approval.
Although the news is not accurate, the discussions about the future XRP ETF are very important. This shows that XRP is attracting attention from major financial institutions. Like Bitcoin and Ethereum, the future ETF could be the first step towards a spot ETF in the future.
