Financial Education About Electronic Money for Children in El Salvador
The Ministry of Education of El Salvador, along with the Bitcoin Office and the “The Little HODLer” project of Lina Seiche, will launch a financial education project for children aged 7 to 13. The project, titled “What Is Money?”, is scheduled to launch on Sunday at the National Library. The goal is to provide basic financial knowledge to children.
The first pilot project will be implemented in 50 public schools in La Libertad, where Bitcoin application is pioneering, serving about 1,000 students. The course will introduce fundamental knowledge such as the history of money, distinguishing needs, budgeting, with a focus on the innovative features of Bitcoin.
Students will participate in 3 hours of training each week, and the teaching materials developed by The Little HODLer organization will gradually expand for grades 4 to 6. This is a continuation of the country’s strategy to invest in education about Bitcoin. Previously, they launched the CUBO+ scholarship program and a degree course on Bitcoin for university students.
