Market Regulation Administration: 16.194 million new individual businesses established nationwide in 2025
Today (the 26th), a reporter learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that by 2025, a total of 16.194 million new individual businesses will be established nationwide, with overall development remaining stable, making positive contributions to consumer prosperity, employment stability, and public service. Business resilience continues to strengthen. The number of individual businesses established for more than three years has reached 84.198 million, accounting for 65.8% of the total, an increase of 9.7 percentage points since the end of 2020. The integration of online and offline development is evident, with the number of individual businesses operating on online trading platforms increasing by 14.7% year-on-year. Business formats are shifting towards new and high-quality. In 2025, 6.468 million new “four new economy” individual businesses will be established, totaling 39.975 million, maintaining a growth trend for five consecutive years. The number of newly established individual businesses in the service sector is 14.625 million, with the industries ranking the top three in growth being “scientific research and technical services,” “education,” and “culture, sports, and entertainment.” Business quality is gradually improving. The cultivation of “distinctive and high-quality new” individual businesses has reached 184,000, with a median duration of continuous operation of 8.4 years. The number of “growth-type” and “development-type” individual businesses nationwide has increased to 13.89 million, accounting for 17.3% of the segmented total, while the proportion of “survival-type” businesses has decreased. A cumulative total of 358,000 individual businesses have benefited from the “individual to enterprise” efficient policy, transitioning to enterprise development through direct change. (CCTV News)
