Abstract generation in progress

Optimism Governance has planned a significant capital reallocation to be executed today. According to ChainCatcher, this measure focuses on implementing a new strategy for liquid staking of assets within the Optimism ecosystem. The Optimism Collective governance aims to utilize its treasury funds more efficiently and to leverage various staking options.

The New Asset Allocation Strategy

In line with the previously published Liquid Staking Request for Proposal (RFP), Optimism Governance has decided to distribute its assets across two different staking methods. This step is part of a comprehensive strategy to increase capital efficiency while diversifying risks. The planned measure will be initiated with the transfer of 6,400 ETH, marking the first phase of this governance initiative.

Division Between Liquid Staking and Native Staking

Optimism Governance is reserving 40% of its assets—exactly 6,400 ETH—for liquid staking on the OP Mainnet. This decentralized network allows assets to remain fluid while generating yields. The remaining 60% of treasury funds will be used for native staking on the Ethereum Mainnet, reflecting a more conservative investment approach. This dual strategy enables Optimism Governance to benefit from the advantages of both staking methods and to better distribute risk.
