Abstract generation in progress

IT House reported on February 10 that TotalEnergies announced on the 9th local time that it had reached a 15-year long-term power deal with Google. Total will deploy a combined 1GW of solar power capacity at its Wichita and Mustang Creek sites in Texas, USA, to support Google’s data center project in Texas.

IT House learned that this is the largest renewable energy power purchase agreement signed by Total in the United States, and related projects are expected to start construction in 2026Q2.

Will Conkling, Google’s Director of Clean Energy & Power, said:

As we expand our infrastructure, supporting a strong, stable, and affordable grid is our top priority. The agreement with TotalEnergies adds the necessary new generation capacity to the local grid, which will provide more affordable and reliable power supply to the entire region.
