BNB Chain has just completed its third major upgrade codenamed Fermi. The results of this upgrade are quite significant — the network block production speed has increased by 40%, and finality confirmation time has been compressed to nearly 1 second.

From a technical perspective, the upgrade also involved adjustments to the validator coordination mechanism. Simply put, it optimized data access and transaction execution efficiency, making the entire chain run more smoothly. Looking back, BNB Chain has undergone two previous upgrades, named after mathematician Pascal and physicist Maxwell. Judging by the upgrade pace, BNB Chain is indeed continuously enhancing its performance. This means faster interaction experiences and greater capacity for developers and users running various applications within the ecosystem.

A 40% increase? Sounds good, but I wonder if it will turn out to be another story once it's actually implemented.

Wow, 1-second finality? Now on-chain interactions can really become smooth, right?

Speed up by 40%? Wait, does this mean the gas fees can be reduced?

40% speedup? Sounds good, but will it be just a flash in the pan again this time? BNB's pace is really aggressive, from Pascal to Maxwell to Fermi, directly named after scientists, kind of the vibe. Is the 1-second confirmation real? That would mean the previous confirmation times were pretty outrageous. The block confirmation speed is faster, but does the Gas fee decrease? That's the real key, right? Validator mechanism optimization? Honestly, it's still about making their own applications run faster. No hype, no blackening, but this momentum looks like it's competing with Solana in performance. Even if the chain is faster, it’s useless if the ecosystem doesn’t have practical stuff. It’s called continuous effort in a nice way, but in a harsh way, it just wasn’t enough before.

40% speed increase, confirmed in 1 second? The selling point sounds pretty good, but how does it actually feel to use? BNB's upgrade pace is quite steady, but I just want to know if the gas fees will go down accordingly. The nicer way to put it is final optimization, but the core goal is still to attract more applications. Blocks are produced faster, yes, but whether the chain is stable or not is the key. Pascal, Maxwell, Fermi... giving such grand names to upgrades, but it still depends on whether the ecosystem applications can keep up.

40% Speedup? Really? Why do I still feel the on-chain is the same lag... Can it withstand the bull market this time? The previous upgrade was also said to be quite powerful. 1-second confirmation sounds good, but I haven't seen the gas fees on-chain decrease. Anyway, I’m optimistic about BNB’s rhythm; continuous optimization is real. How is the experience after the Fermi upgrade? Has anyone tried it? But the biggest risk with this kind of upgrade is that no one uses it haha. Pascal, Maxwell, Fermi... these names have good taste. Can it directly match ETH’s performance? That’s the key. Doubling the speed also doubles my arbitrage opportunities, smooth.
