Solana's onchain trading activity has hit a remarkable inflection point. The blockchain processed $1.6 trillion in spot trading volume throughout 2025, now trailing only the largest centralized exchanges in total transaction flow.

What's striking here isn't just the absolute number—it's the trajectory. Solana captured roughly 12% of the total market share, climbing steeply from just 1% in 2022. Meanwhile, the historical dominance of centralized platforms has compressed noticeably. The leading CEX's share compressed from 80% to 55% over the same window.

This shift signals a fundamental rebalancing. More volume flowing through decentralized rails means tighter spreads, reduced counterparty risk, and faster settlement. For traders, it translates into real optionality—you're no longer forced into a single venue. The ecosystem is actually starting to fragment in ways that benefit participants, not just centralized gatekeepers.

Sol's rise this time is real, going from 1% to 12% in less than three years—parents wouldn't even recognize it anymore. --- Breaking the cex monopoly has been a long time coming, finally showing some signs of decentralization. --- 1.6 trillion? Wow, that number is dazzling. Sol really might turn things around and sing its song. --- In this wave of decentralized exchanges, I bet they will continue to eat into cex's territory—no one wants to be cut out. --- Wait... if Sol can reach this level, does that mean transaction fees are about to drop in price? --- Sounds good, but I care more about whether liquidity is deep enough—don't want slippage to scare people to death. --- Contract risks are still there; no matter how much you diversify, you can't escape the fate of liquidation. --- This is what Web3 should look like—finally no need to look at cex's face. --- A 12% market share sounds impressive, but how far is it from traditional exchanges? --- I just want to know when I can trade confidently on the Sol chain without worrying about being rug-pulled.

Wow, the growth rate of SOL is really incredible, going from 1% to 12% in just three years? The CEX vampires are finally getting a bit nervous, their 55% share is still dropping. Feeling truly decentralized now.
