Don't remind me again today

The day I tossed 800U into my account, the chat box was full of mocking internet memes. Someone said this amount of principal isn't even enough to cover the fees, but I couldn't be bothered to respond and just muted the messages.

I have a clear calculation in my mind - treat this money as four lives, each worth 200U. If one life is lost, I will stop and never chase after it. I have a few notes stuck up beside my computer screen, with some hard rules written on them: only trade mainstream coins like BTC and ETH, cut losses at 3%, set profit-taking at 6%, and run when it hits; only add more when I'm in profit, pull back when I’m in loss; I must shut down my computer by 11 PM, staring at the screen until dawn is something foolish people do.

The first two weeks were like delivering food, grabbing a few dozen U and then pulling out. 800 slowly rose to 880, and then it crawled up to 1000. The jokes about me in the group never stopped, but I didn’t say a word; I just separated the profits I earned and kept myself a little more alive. From four health bars to five, my mindset actually stabilized.

In the third week, Bitcoin's daily line suddenly surged above the 30-day moving average, and I knew the opportunity had arrived. I invested the 400U profit all at once, keeping the stop loss at 3% and raising the take profit to 12%. Four days later, I woke up in the morning to see that my account had broken 1600 for the first time! Without saying a word, I transferred 800U of my principal into a hardware wallet and told myself: every penny I earn from now on is free money.

After securing my principal, I became even more cautious. I split the remaining 1600 into three parts: 60% continues to do short-term trading, 30% waits for a weekly pullback, and 10% is kept for transaction fees. During those two months, I didn't miss out on three waves of market movements: the anticipation of Ethereum upgrades, the hype around ETFs, and Solana's sudden surge. My profits snowballed, going from 1600 to 3600, and then to 7200. I took out 800 from my cold wallet and bought a second-hand monitor, which I consider my first bonus.

After my account surpassed ten thousand, I raised the single position limit to 20%, but added a safety rule: if the daily drawdown reaches 5%, I will immediately cut half of the position. Later, when the Federal Reserve took a hawkish stance and the exchange experienced a flash crash, I managed to avoid big losses twice thanks to this rule.

In the early hours of March 14, 2024, the account balance was fixed at 160000U. I took a screenshot and threw it into a group I had long since left, paired with a phrase: "Isn't it enough?" No one replied in the message box, but my private messages exploded instantly.

Looking back, there are three rules: a single loss should not exceed 2% of total funds, and the additional position should not exceed half of the last profit; do not act if any of the three conditions are missing: daily line breakout + increased trading volume + mainstream currencies; look for divergence signals in 5 minutes, confirm in 15 minutes, and establish the range in 1 hour before entering.

What a ruthless person, this discipline is really amazing. I need to reflect on my own chaotic way of operating.

Starting with 800 and making 200,000? The rules really saved me, it's not luck. How are those who mocked me doing now?
