Gate News message, April 26 — A shooting incident occurred at the White House Correspondents Dinner on April 25, forcing President Trump and Vice President Vance to evacuate the venue. Both officials remained unharmed, and the gunman was arrested at the scene.
Trump stated in a post that law enforcement requested the attendees leave the premises and they complied immediately. “I will hold a press conference in the Situation Room in 30 minutes. The First Lady, Vice President, and all cabinet members are safe and unharmed. I have communicated with the event organizers, and the dinner will be rescheduled within 30 days,” Trump said.
Fox News correspondent Bret Baier, an eyewitness, reported: “I heard gunshots and everyone dropped to the ground. Within seconds, Secret Service personnel rapidly secured the scene and armed officers flooded in.” According to senior White House officials, the gunman rushed toward a security checkpoint near the main entrance and fired at a Secret Service agent inside the dining hall.
