UN envoy urges Houthi armed group in Yemen to immediately and unconditionally release detained individuals

On January 10th, Jinshi Data News, United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Glen Debelle, urged the Houthi armed forces in Yemen to immediately and unconditionally release the United Nations and other personnel detained by them. The Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen issued a statement on the 9th, saying that Glen Debelle concluded his visit to the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, that day. During his visit, he discussed with Houthi armed officials the advancement of peace initiatives and ensuring the unconditional release of detained personnel. It is reported that since early June 2024, the Houthi armed forces have arrested more than 50 staff and rescue personnel from the United Nations, international organizations, and civilian institutions in Sana'a.
