He pointed out that the current weak economic growth is hedging against rising inflation, and the FED will still maintain the expectation of two rate cuts in 2025.
Powell emphasized in his speech: "Our obligation is to keep long-term inflation expectations stable and ensure that one-time price increases don't become an ongoing inflation problem.
