Belgium’s Priorities, Public Blockchain and Secure Document Storage

Belgium aims to speed up the creation of a European blockchain infrastructure during its early 2024 EU Council presidency. The initiative, one of four priorities, focuses on a public blockchain for secure storage of official documents like licenses.

AI, online privacy, and digital economy skills are among the other top priorities, according to Belgium’s Secretary of State for Digitization, Mathieu Michel.
